Our Community Reads is a part of The Topaze Project. Our Mission is to create safe spaces for our Black children to feel seen, valued, empowered and celebrated as we prepare them to be world changers in a Global Society.

Our Community Reads has a YouTube channel that has diverse stories read by people in our community and beyond. We do community literacy events for 3rd-8th graders surrounding literacy and empowerment like Queens Club meetings/outings and Hallow Read at Growing Hope. We also do impactful and fun collaborations like Books and Brews with Black Men Read which is wisdom and connection through children's picture book storytimes for adults at local breweries.

We believe life is a game of chess, not checkers.
